Alyssa's Tip of the Week: Treat Yourself

Want to shake things up a little bit in the crazy world of college? Want to try something new? Want to discover random and meaningless ideas that pertain to you in no way what so ever? Let me introduce my new segment Alyssa’s Tip of the Week! Every week I’ll post a random tidbit to make your dull young adult life just a tad more interesting.

Tip #1: Look at the iTunes free music download each week

First off, HELLO… free music! If you do the math, one free song each week is 52 free songs each year! With the average price of an iTunes song being $1.99 that means you would get $103.48 worth of music for the whopping deal of $0.00! Plus it is a great way to discover new artists and music. You can be that cool kid that knows all these interesting unknown songs. I personally have found new artists that I am now in love with.

Tip #2: Don’t be afraid to spend a night in

Yes college life is exciting. The parties seem endless. But, you shouldn’t be afraid to just veg out on your bed and spend the night in. Put on some sweats. Don’t do you makeup. Put on a movie that will make you bawl your eyes out. You will not BELIEVE how good you will feel after a night of doing nothing. There will always be another party to go to. Make sure to take some time for yourself!

Tip #3: Have a solo dance party in your room

This idea I might have been inspired by Grey’s Anatomy, but let me tell you IT WORKS! Whenever you feel the stress start to boil up, don’t wait for it all to explode. Let off some steam by blasting your favorite song, locking the door, and then just let loose. Just taking three and a half minutes out of your day to go crazy will have amazing affects on your stress level and overall happiness.
