Today marks the day that I’ve finished Gossip Girl. I know I’m a year late, but I’d like to give a big shoutout to Netflix for catching me up.

 

As I sit at my desk typing away (coming to terms with its end and the character withdrawals I know I’ll have in the coming weeks) I can’t help but listen to the soundtrack with hopes of keeping the series alive in some form.

 

Amidst all of the drama, gossip and Chuck Bass, I have also thoroughly enjoyed the music selection incorporated into the shows.

 

Because I started the series as a catch-up on Netflix I experienced throwbacks to songs that would have been popular all the way back to when I was a seventh grader. I’ve enjoyed hearing songs from new and old genres and have found some of my favorite songs through careful listening of the white noise in the shows.

 

With over 531 songs played in the series, the genres range from modern to indie and pop to instrumental covers. If viewers were to go back and watch it again, I’m sure they’d appreciate the music as well.

 

As a celebration of my completion of the series, and a cheers to it in general, I’d like to share some of my favorites from each season.
