We may never be Royals...but Lorde sure might

I’m going to go ahead and jump on the bandwagon with Allie and Maggie and give you a little taste of my favorites in the music world…

For the past couple of months a young artist has been on the rise in the world-wide indie genre--and most recently, American--music circuit.

Best known for her song “Royals,” Lorde has an album with a handful of songs on it, a few singles under her belt, and is set to release another album, “Pure Heroine,” on Sep. 30.

“The Love Club,” her first album, was released in March of this year and is popular for the songs “Royals” and “The Love Club.”

Another notable single of hers is “Tennis Courts.”

It’s not only surprising that the New Zealand native is just 16, but rather, she seemingly came out of nowhere late last year.

This past spring one of my friends introduced me to her most famous song, “Royals,” and I was hooked.

Being a Lana del Rey fan myself, I found her voice similar to Rey’s but with seemingly more passion and drive. Lorde’s tunes are catchy, and the lyrics thought-provoking in an eccentric way.

Her genre is also comparable to Ellie Goulding and Marina The Diamonds.

Give her a listen here:
