Call me a product of the 2008 vampire-paranormal romance craze, but I love the (if somewhat horribly titled) book series Vampire Academy by Richelle Meade. And, like most good books that I write about on here, it’s being made into a movie.

 

The premise of VA is following two best friends Rose Hathaway (Zoey Deutch) and Lissa Dragomir (Lucy Fry). Where Lissa is a full vampire or Moroi, Rose is a Dhampir—half vampire half human—whose job it is to protect the dying Moroi bloodline. But, when Lissa saves Rose’s life by a miracle of spirit, the two become connected and can even feel what the other is feeling. They come back to their school, St Vladimir’s Academy, after running away and they will be tested even harder to prove they are worthy of being let in again. Including Rose’s one-on-one training with her oh so young and beautiful defense coach, Dimitri (Danila Kozlovsky).  

 

Vampire Academy: Bloodsisters due out in February 2014 seems to follow the same plot as of yet. These new movie stills just came out and I pretty stoked about them. I mean, look at Danila Kozlovsky. I couldn’t have picked a better Dimitri myself. A teaser trailer is due to come out sometime this week, so we’ll keep you posted. What do you guys think? Sound off in the comments below.
